Finding random shit doesn’t get much better than this

So the story behind this fire goes a little something like this…. Some random dudes were doing some angle grinding at this spot right next to a stack of Styrofoam box’s and didn’t realise that Styrofoam is extremely flammable. After a few minutes of intense angle grinding some sparks (self props) began to fly towards the Styrofoam…… now im no scientist but im smart enough to know you shouldnt be playing with angle grinders next to Styrofoam. A few seconds later I hear sammy yell “FIRE” , “FIRE” and the guys turn around and started to freak out because, sure enough, there was a Styrofoam fire ball right next to them. The following photos are a result of absolute stupidity.

So… some of the boys have come over for a bit of “Tom Foolery” on their skateboards. Sydney, Australia (8th November, 2010) – Analog & Gravis are proud to announce the winners of the ‘Dead Flicks’, Halloween competition. Sydney local Jackson ‘Get-Rad’ Buhck and Adelaide ex-pat Cameron ‘Stinky’ Nicholls have taken out 1st place and $3,000 worth of cash & product from Analog & Gravis. Their combined creative talents and sense of humour gave Waterloo Skatepark a ‘spooky’ make-over and captured the true evil spirit of Halloween.

The web clip competition was hosted by competition partner, www.skateboard.com.au and began two weeks ago inviting Australian skateboarders to submit a 1 -3 minute clip that truly captured the spirit of Halloween, all vying for a chance to win over $5,000 in cash & prizes.

Analog & Gravis international pro, Arto Saari, judged the competition on Halloween attire, spot decoration, the use of blood and gore and general creativity. After viewing all entries and having to make some extremely tough decisions, Arto decided to award the following entries winning places.

1. Jackson Buhck & Cameron Nicholls (Get-Rad and Stinky)

$2000 cash + $1,000 product

2. Leigh Bolton

$1,000 cash + $500 product

3. Robbie Rotman and James Brett (Cornwell and Shorts)

$500 cash + $250 product

4. Ben Hermans (NTSC)

$250 cash + $125 product

Cameron Sparkes, Skate Coordinator for Analog & Gravis, commented on the announcement,

WHY SO EMPTY!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

So on a recent visit to the central coast I decided to track down this skatepark I saw footage of a few years back. I remember seeing a clip featuring a legend known as “Brad Mcdermott” skating this park that definitely aroused me. I asked brad where the park was and he said “I dunno….. somewhere up the coast???” a very vague response at best, but totally acceptable considering brad comes for SA. I vowed to myself that someday I would find this park and skate it like no one had ever skated it before! So five years later (Shutup im lazy) I used my extremely excellent detective skills to track down this skatepark which turned out to be Berkley Vale plaza conveniently situated between Tuggerah and Erina on the NSW central coast. Now in the middle of the school holidays one would expect an infestation of scooter kids or (hopefully) skateboarders to completely ruin my action packed lunch break….. but upon arrival I was shocked to find that I had the skatepark completely to myself…… Um….. what the @#$%#! This place is epic and there isn’t one kid here!? Is there a catch to this place or something? Because I defintiyl couldn’t find anything wrong with it! I kept expecting some ranger to come out of the bushes and tell me the park was closed due to hazards chemical spill or something…. But nothing happened. Can someone please tell me why no one goes here? I really want to know.

Any way the skatepark is located at Berkely Vale Rd (adjoined to Berkley Vale football club carpark and next to Berkley Vale highschool.) (for Google maps its directly across from Heather Ave) Take Tuggerah exit from freeway, follow Wyong Road all the way to the Berkeley Vale lights (shortly after 7th round about), turn right at the lights, can't miss it.

So we all know that Perth and Western Australia are good for a few things…..

Great Skateboarders, good looking people, heath ledger, Swan Draft and of course amazing spots! I was talking to Harry this morning and he told me about two spots that he had come across recently. After he began describing them too me I decided it was time to contribute a “What the fuckkkkkkkk?” type response, I demanded pictures ASAP or Harry could just "GTFOH" (as they say on the internet). He sent me the photos of the two said spots and needless to say im already on the virgin blue page trying find the first flight over to Perth. Harry I hate you and your two new amazing spots.

Sammy Winter is once again a man of travel. Leaving for France yesterday he will join a Transworld trip in Leon, followed by a Cliché trip (somewhere else in France) then finally he embarks on a Gravis tour in Germany with the U.S Squadron. Sammy will then by heading back to the U.S then returning home in time for Christmas. Sammy is going to keep us updated with info on his travels so stay tuned for photos of French sprouters, weird German things/activities and oversized American meals. Special guest appearances may include the “Meat Ghost”, Chima, Luke “Man made of lemons” Croker and other assorted Australians who are now no longer classified as “Australian” due to extended stints over seas.....Does that make sense? whatever....just keep re-reading it untill you understand.
